Editorial Guidelines

These guidelines describe how The Pet Food Journal researches, writes, reviews, and discloses. They exist to keep our content trustworthy and useful for pet parents.

Accuracy and sourcing

We base our articles on reputable sources — veterinary and animal-nutrition organizations, peer-reviewed research, official regulatory and recall notices, and manufacturer documentation. We aim to represent the current consensus and to flag where evidence is limited or evolving.

Independence and disclosure

Our editorial coverage is independent. When an article contains a paid, sponsored, or affiliate relationship, we disclose it clearly and mark such links appropriately. Commercial relationships never determine our editorial conclusions.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please contact us. We review every correction request and update articles promptly when warranted, noting significant changes.

Not veterinary advice

Our content is for general information only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. Always consult your veterinarian about your pet’s specific needs.
